On May 13, 2026, Hon. Collines Angwech Otim was officially sworn in to Uganda’s 12th Parliament as the representative for Kioga County in Amolatar District.
In a historic and inspiring event, Hon. Collines Angwech Otim officially took oath as the Member of Parliament for Kioga County, Amolatar District, marking the beginning of her tenure in the 12th Parliament.
The ceremony took place on Parliament Avenue in Kampala on May 13, 2026, at exactly 9:45am, where Angwech stood proudly alongside friends and family who had gathered to witness the significant milestone.
Hon. Angwech’s rise to the position is a testament to her dedication and resilience.
After competing against four male candidates, she emerged victorious, breaking barriers and setting a strong example for women in leadership within the region.
Her term will run for the next five years, during which she has pledged to work tirelessly for the advancement and welfare of the people of Kioga County.
Addressing the press shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Hon. Angwech expressed profound gratitude for the trust placed in her.
She pledged to dedicate herself fully to promoting development and ensuring that the needs of her constituents remain a priority.
Her commitment is rooted in a vision of progress and empowerment for Kioga County.
Beyond politics, Hon. Angwech serves as the Country Director for Far Away Friends and Principal of Global Leaders School in Amolatar.
Her political journey began in 2021 when she contested for the Woman Member of Parliament seat but narrowly lost to Hon. Dr Agness Atim Apea.
Undeterred by the setback, she returned with renewed vigour in 2026 and successfully secured her current parliamentary seat.
The swearing-in of Hon. Collines Angwech Otim marks not only a personal achievement but also a new chapter of hope and determination for Kioga County.
As she assumes this mantle of leadership, many residents look forward to the positive transformation she hopes to bring to the community she proudly represents.
