In a historic and inspiring event, Honorable Collines Angwech Otim was officially sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Kioga County, Amolatar District, marking the beginning of the 12th Parliament.

The ceremony took place at Uganda Parliament Avenue on May 13th, 2026, at exactly 9:45 AM, where Angwech stood proudly alongside friends and family who gathered to witness this significant milestone.

Hon. Angwech’s ascension to this pivotal role is a testament to her dedication and resilience.

Competing fiercely against four male candidates, she emerged victorious, breaking barriers and setting a powerful example for women in leadership within the region.

 Her term will span the next five years, during which she has vowed to work tirelessly for the advancement and welfare of the people of Kioga County.

Addressing press shortly after the swearing-in, Hon. Angwech expressed profound gratitude for the trust placed in her.

She promised to dedicate herself fully to fostering development and ensuring that the needs of her constituents are prioritized.

Her commitment is deeply rooted in a vision of progress and empowerment for Kioga County.

Beyond politics, Hon. Angwech is a dynamic leader, serving as the Country Director for Far Away Friends and Principal of Global Leaders School in Amolatar.

Her journey into politics began in 2021 when she ran for the Woman Member of Parliament seat but was narrowly defeated by Hon. Dr. Agness Atim Apea.

Undeterred by this setback, she returned with renewed vigor in 2026, successfully securing her current parliamentary seat.

The swearing-in of Hon. Collines Angwech Otim marks not just a personal achievement but a new chapter of hope and determination for Kioga County.
