Joy and happiness enveloped voters of Kioga County who gathered at Gracious Hotel in Namugongo for a dinner party organised by Hon. Collines Angwech Otim following her swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday.
The atmosphere was filled with celebration and optimism for the future under her leadership.
During the event, Benson Ongom, a staff member at NBS TV, addressed the attendees, sharing exciting news.
Reports circulating in the corridors suggest that Hon. Collines Angwech Otim may be among the nine ministers representing Northern Uganda, a revelation that sparked excitement among guests.
In response, Hon. Collines Angwech Otim took the microphone to express her heartfelt appreciation.
“I am truly grateful to everyone who contributed to my successful election to Parliament.
Your support means everything to me,” she said warmly.
She continued with a powerful message on unity and equality.
“I commend all those who voted for me, regardless of my gender.
This victory is not just mine, but ours — it demonstrates that leadership transcends gender boundaries.”
Hon. Collines Angwech Otim then outlined her commitment to the community’s development.
“My priority will always be you, my constituents. I vow to focus on critical issues such as improving our roads, enhancing healthcare facilities, and expanding educational opportunities.”
The Resident District Commissioner of Amolatar District, Okello Odoki Rwotlonyo, who was also present at the dinner, praised the electorate for their wise choice.
“Electing Hon. Collines Angwech shows that our community values exceptional leadership, irrespective of gender.
She is truly a leader chosen by the people,” he remarked.
Jacky Milton Otoo Olima also joined in commending the voters of Kioga County.
“You have placed your trust in a remarkable leader. I believe Hon. Collines Angwech will meet all your expectations and lead with dedication.”
Obua Kony Paco assured the community of continued support and effective governance.
“Hon. Collines Angwech will respond appropriately to your needs and coordinate the necessary processes for progress.”
Amid the joyful celebrations, voters, who could barely contain their happiness, also expressed their gratitude.
“Thank you to everyone who voted for Hon. Collines Angwech as the Member of Parliament for Kioga County.
Together, we look forward to a brighter future,” said Jacinata, speaking on behalf of the jubilant crowd.
The evening was a true testament to celebration and unity.
Hon. Collines Angwech won her seat in the January 2026 general election, defeating six male opponents, including an incumbent MP and a retired UPDF Colonel.
