Amolatar secondary school shines in mock exams as parents urged to return students

Amolatar Secondary School has recorded an outstanding performance in the recently released Senior Four mock examinations conducted under the Lango Sub-region Examination and Assessment Association (LASEMEA).

Speaking to our reporter, the head teacher, Mr. Denis Patrick Odur Obia, said all 117 candidates who registered for the examinations performed excellently.

He attributed the achievement to the commitment and cooperation of teachers, parents, and students.

However, Mr. Odur Obia has appealed to parents and guardians of candidate students to ensure that their children return to school immediately.

He said the school has already started correcting the examination papers, conducting revision sessions, and organizing academic seminars specifically designed for candidate classes.

He added that regular lessons had also resumed smoothly, with all teachers back on duty.Despite these preparations, student turnout remains low.

Mr. Odur Obia said that by Friday, September 18, 2026, only 180 students out of more than 600 had reported back to school.

He attributed the low turnout to the various challenges families may be facing at home.

The head teacher urged parents to use the weekend to send their children back to school, emphasizing that education remains the key to success.

He observed that the days when people placed greater value on money than education were long gone, urging parents to prioritize their children’s education despite the difficulties they may be experiencing.

Mr. Odur Obia further advised parents facing financial difficulties to send their children back with whatever essential food items they can provide or visit the school administration to discuss possible arrangements, rather than keeping the students at home.

He emphasized that ensuring food supplies for learners is the most urgent need at the moment and called on parents to work closely with the school to ensure that students resume their studies without further delay.
