Amolatar senior six students dies of diabetes

A somber mood has engulfed Amolatar Secondary School following the sudden death of Kawesa Augustin, a Senior Six student who succumbed to diabetes on Tuesday evening.

According to family sources, Augustin fell ill on Friday, August 14, 2026.

His health condition deteriorated critically on Tuesday evening, prompting an emergency rush to Kamuli Hospital.

Medical personnel at the facility placed the student on oxygen support for two hours in an effort to stabilize his condition.

Despite the doctors’ efforts, Augustin passed away shortly after.

Medical reports confirmed that he was battling diabetes.

Augustin, who was in his final year of advanced secondary education, is a brother to Mr. Bateganya, a well-known a teacher at AmolatarSecondarySchool.

Burial arrangements and further details from the school administration are yet to be announced.

The entire school community mourns the loss of a promising young student whose potential was cut short by illness.
