Potter’s Christian Primary School in Amolatar Town Council has dedicated 50 Primary Seven candidates to God ahead of their final examinations, which begin on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The dedication prayer was held on Wednesday, October 28, at the school premises in Apalepe Ward. Parents, teachers and pupils attended the ceremony as the candidates were entrusted to God’s care ahead of their examinations.
Potter’s Christian Primary School is a registered and operational faith-based primary school in Amolatar Town Council.
The Primary Seven class teacher, Mr Elwelu Emmanuel, said the school has 50 candidates, although only 48 are registered to sit the examinations through the school. He explained that the remaining two candidates would sit the examinations as external candidates due to late registration and a parent’s decision, respectively.
Mr Elwelu said the candidates performed well in their mock examinations and had remained focused on their studies without being distracted by social media. Four candidates obtained Division One, while most attained Division Two and a few scored Division Three. He added that no candidate obtained an ungraded result.
The headteacher, Mr Okello Lawrence, said the candidates would sit their examinations at Agikdak Primary School because Potter’s Christian Primary School does not yet have its own examination centre number.
The examination programme is as follows:
Mr Okello, who joined Potter’s Christian Primary School this term after spending four years at Green Valley Boarding Primary School, said his experience would help strengthen the teaching of Mathematics. At Green Valley, he headed the Mathematics department and taught Primary Seven, with many of his pupils performing well.
He described Potter’s as a growing school with new ideas and a largely new teaching team. He assured parents that his experience as a senior Mathematics teacher would help address challenges in the subject.
The school has 26 teaching and non-teaching staff, comprising 13 females and 13 males, and a total enrolment of 480 pupils.
The Director of Studies, Mr Abel Okello Ocwer, told parents that education rests on three key pillars: parents, teachers and pupils. He said the three groups must work together to achieve good academic performance.
Mr Okello Lawrence also urged parents to select good secondary schools for their children and criticised some parents for failing to fulfil their responsibilities.
Ms Imat Esther, who represented the school director, cautioned parents against being harsh with their children during the holiday. She encouraged them to provide support and guidance while maintaining discipline at home.
She also urged the candidates to remain disciplined and focused throughout the examination period.
