On Sunday, 28 June 2026, a heartfelt farewell party was held at the residence of Olaka Oper Hotel, affectionately known as Dog Agadi, to honour Rev. Max Ajon for his dedicated service as a reverend and outstanding coach.
The event was organised by members of Dog Agadi following Rev. Ajon’s transfer from Amolatar Urban Archdeaconry to Amuca.
Denish Olaka Oper, chairperson of the organising committee, praised Rev. Max Ajon for his tireless efforts in Amolatar, noting that his work earned him respect and affection across all denominations. “His commitment went beyond denominational lines, uniting the community in faith and purpose,” Mr Olaka said.
Kioga County MP Collins Angwech expressed the county’s sense of loss following Rev. Ajon’s departure. She highlighted his key role as head coach during the first edition of Dwog Paco, where Kioga County emerged victorious under his leadership. “Rev. Ajon was more than a spiritual leader; he was a champion coach who inspired us all,” Ms Angwech said.
Amolatar District Chairperson, Mr Morish Ogwal Omara, praised Rev. Ajon’s unwavering commitment to integrity. He noted that upon arriving in Amolatar, Rev. Ajon deliberately avoided involvement in local politics, instead choosing to pray for winning candidates and console those who lost elections. “This approach demonstrated his integrity and respect for his role as a servant of God,” Mr Ogwal said.
Echoing these sentiments, Resident District Commissioner, Mr Francis Okello Odoki Rwotlonyo, highlighted Rev. Ajon’s neutrality during election periods. “We will deeply miss him—not only was he a devoted servant of God but also a skilled coach who brought people together,” the RDC remarked.
Mr Simon Peter Ongom Sedue, former LCV Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Chakston Hotel Amolatar, noted the lasting impact Rev. Max Ajon made during his brief one-and-a-half-month stay in Amolatar. He concluded by wishing him success in all his future endeavours.
The farewell event celebrated Rev. Max Ajon’s remarkable contributions to both spiritual leadership and community sport, marking the end of a meaningful chapter in Amolatar’s history.
