A 35-year-old man lost his hand after it was severed in a violent confrontation linked to an extramarital affair in Muntu Mwalu, within the Muntu Sub-county of Amolatar District.

According to reports, Mr. Elai Ceasor’s hand was cut off by a man identified as Obonyo, the husband of Abonyo Eunice, after Obonyo caught Mr. Elai with his wife.

Last week, Mr. Obonyo had traveled back to his home district in Dokolo, leaving his wife behind at the Muntu landing site where they had been engaged in farming activities.

During this period, Mr. Elai reportedly began a relationship with Abonyo Eunice.

On Thursday, it is alleged that Mr. Obonyo secretly returned to Muntu.

That same day, Mr. Elai began calling Abonyo Eunice, insisting that he was coming to see her.

Despite her warnings that her husband had returned, Mr. Elai persisted and went to Obonyo’s home.

Upon arrival, Obonyo reportedly armed himself with a machete and severed Mr. Elai’s hand.

Local residents, angered by the violent act, attacked Mr. Obonyo.

This led to all parties being rushed to Amolatar Health Centre IV for medical attention.

Efforts to obtain comments from the District Police Commander of Amolatar were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
