Amolatar district recently came alive as hundreds of residents gathered to participate in a marathon birthday run celebrating General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 52nd birthday.
The event, marked with enthusiasm and community spirit, concluded with a charitable gesture aimed at supporting patients at Amolatar Health Center IV.
The birthday run kicked off early in the day, drawing runners and supporters from across the district. After the invigorating exercise, the organizers shifted focus towards giving back to the community.
Soaps, sugar, and basins were donated to the sick at the health facility, a move seen as a fitting tribute to General Muhoozi’s special day.
While delivering these items, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Amolatar, Okello Odoki Rwotlonyo Francis, emphasized that the donations were part of the nationwide celebration of the General’s birthday.

“Given this colorful day in the country, we have decided to extend our celebrations by supporting the patients here at the facility as Amolatar joins the rest of Uganda in honouring General Muhoozi,” he stated.
Dr. Luru Walter , the in-charge of Amolatar Health Center IV, expressed gratitude for the generosity exhibited by local leaders under the RDC’s stewardship.
He praised the birthday run initiative for promoting exercise, highlighting its importance in preventing diseases linked to sedentary lifestyles.
Dr. Luru further shared insights into some of the most common ailments treated at the facility, including sickle cell disease—which records the highest cases—HIV treatment and prevention, and various communicable diseases.
Carlos Opul Saturday, the coordinator of the Parliamentary Liaison Unit (PLU) in Amolatar and former Kioga County aspirant, also extended thanks to all participants.
He noted that the large turnout reflected the deep love and respect the people of Amolatar hold for General Muhoozi.
He took the opportunity to appeal for improved road networks and enhanced health services, reinforcing these as key development priorities alongside the birthday celebrations.
Chairperson LC V Elect Moris Ogwal Omara urged the youth to embrace the spirit of patriotism championed by General Muhoozi. “As a district, we fully support all initiatives led by General Muhoozi Kainerugaba,” he affirmed.
