The Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Amolatar, Mrs. Sarah Tyan, has raised concerns over a noticeable decline in the number of students enrolled in the Presidential Skilling Hub based in Lira City.

Originally, Amolatar District enrolled 20 beneficiaries to participate in the vocational training program.

However, only 16 students have returned this term, comprising 8 girls and 7 boys.

Among those absent are four students: Ocen Joshua from Agwingiri Sub County, Akello Brenda from Opali Sub County, Akullu Susan from Agikdak Sub County, and Olwa Gloria from Akwon Sub County.

These absences mean that these sub-counties will now lack representation at the skilling hub.

Mrs. Tyan expressed serious concern, describing the drop in enrollment as a wasted opportunity for the youth of Amolatar District to gain critical skills and tools to improve their livelihoods.

Asst Rdc on missing

On the question of whether replacements will be brought in, the Assistant RDC indicated that they are currently awaiting approval from the manager of the Presidential Skilling Hub in Lira City.

On Thursday, April 4th, 2026, the 16 returning students were officially flagged off at the RDC’s office to begin training.
