Amolatar Secondary School has been declared the champions of the Amolatar District Athletics after a spectacular performance in the recently concluded games held on Thursday at their school premises.
The event featured ten secondary schools from across the district competing fiercely for top honors.
In an impressive display of talent and dedication, Amolatar Secondary School secured all three major trophies: the boys’ trophy, the girls’ trophy, and the overall school trophy—an achievement that underscores their dominance in the district’s athletics.
Speaking to our reporter, the Deputy Headteacher of Amolatar Secondary School, Mr. Ogwal Francis, praised the students and the entire school community for their hard work and commitment to excellence.
He highlighted the importance of teamwork and perseverance in achieving this remarkable feat.
Adding to the commendations, the Deputy of Academics and Sports, Mr. Ongel Tonny Walter, expressed great satisfaction with the students’ performance, noting that it met and even exceeded their expectations.
He also took the opportunity to thank the teachers, parents, and the headteacher for their unwavering support throughout the preparation period.
Mr. Ongel further emphasized that Amolatar Secondary School continues to invest in its talented students by providing bursaries, ensuring that promising athletes receive the financial assistance they need to excel both on the field and in academics.
The school’s sports teacher, Mr. Olila Ivan, shared insights into the rigorous training regimen that prepared the students for the competition.
He attributed their outstanding performance to thorough preparation and dedication from both students and staff. Mr. Olila also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the headteacher for fostering a conducive environment for sports development and talent nurturing at Amolatar Secondary School.
This triple victory not only highlights the prowess of Amolatar Secondary School’s athletes but also reflects the school’s continued commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting sportsmanship.
