In a significant move to strengthen the educational landscape in Amolatar District, local education authorities have announced the transfer of 17 headteachers, six deputy headteachers, and 97 teaching staff.

The reshuffle comes just one week before the official reopening of schools for the first term, representing a strategic step towards improving performance in government-aided schools across the district.

The decision to reorganise staff has been driven by several factors, including the urgent need to fill staffing gaps, the extended tenure of certain teachers at their current posts, and requests from school management committees seeking change.

The immediate implementation of these transfers is expected to address ongoing staff shortages that have contributed to substandard learner performance in schools with insufficient teaching resources.

In addition to the transfers, Amolatar District has advertised 20 new teaching positions. These vacancies have arisen due to teachers who have passed away, retired, or abandoned their duties, further demonstrating the district’s commitment to maintaining a strong educational framework.

Amolatar’s actions come at a critical time following the recent release of Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results. The district recorded 57 pupils in Division One, 810 in Division Two, 342 in Division Three, 361 in Division Four, 608 in Division U, and 27 in Division X, out of a total of 2,505 pupils. These figures highlight the necessity of effective staffing strategies as the district seeks to improve educational outcomes.

As the new term approaches, these measures reflect a concerted effort to enhance the quality of education through strategic personnel changes, ultimately aiming to boost learner success across the district.
