On Friday, June 26, 2026, the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP) extended its support to another farmers’ group in Amolatar district.
The Abarler Farmers Group, which is renowned for its soybean farming, received approximately 64 kilograms of soybean seeds and other farming materials after making their required 20% contribution.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Okello Dulson, the focal point person for UCSATP in Amolatar district and acting principal entomologist, explained that the farmers’ group had contributed 20% of UGX 3.6 million toward the project, while the government contributed a 80% of UGX 11.5 million. This brought the overall investment to UGX 15.2 million.
Mr. Dulson further urged other farmers’ groups that have not yet made their 20% payment to do so quickly to benefit from the remaining UCSATP projects, as only two years remain before the program’s completion. “This opportunity will not last forever. Farmers should take advantage while it’s still available,” he noted.
In his remarks, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Amolatar, Mr. Vuciri Geoffrey, encouraged more farmers to participate in the project. He noted that obtaining farming materials through UCSATP is transformative for rural farming communities. “Those who have already benefited should spread the word about this initiative,” Mr. Vuciri added.
Hon. Awio Mike, Secretary for Works and Production, applauded the government’s commitment to supporting farmers through UCSATP. He also challenged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the resources provided and maximize their productivity.
The Vice Chairperson of Amolatar, Mrs. Magret Olul, expressed her admiration for the farmers who are actively engaging with the project. She pledged unwavering support to all farmers in ensuring the success of UCSATP’s goals across the district.
Ms. Sarah Tyan, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Amolatar, also called upon farmers to step forward and join the initiative. “The Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project has the potential to change lives,” she said, encouraging interested individuals or groups to acquire farming materials.
Meanwhile, Mr. Obote Bazil, chairperson of the Abarler United Farmers Group, displayed great optimism about the new resources. “With this package we’ve received, we are confident that by next year, our group will become billionaires!” he exclaimed. His statement inspired enthusiasm among the gathered farmers and officials.

The UCSATP continues to demonstrate its role in advancing agricultural practices and transforming livelihoods in rural areas, particularly through soybean farming. With only two years remaining in the project timeline, the call to action for farmers to take advantage of this opportunity remains urgent.
