On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the Amolatar district received a significant boost to its agricultural sector with the delivery of beehives for the fourth time to the Alii beekeepers’ group.

This milestone is part of the ongoing Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP), a government initiative funded by the World Bank focused on promoting climate-resilient farming practices across the country.

During a press briefing, Dulson Okello Samuel, UCSATP’s focal point in Amolatar and the acting principal entomologist, highlighted the financial contributions that underpin this initiative.

The Alii beekeepers’ group contributed 20% of their required 7 million shillings, while the government provided 80% of the 28 million shillings allocated for these inputs.

Along with 200 beehives, the group received various essential kits designed to enhance their beekeeping productivity.
