Shock as unusual lightning strikes Amolatar

Amina Akello, another resident of Bangala who witnessed the incident, told Hot FM News that despite the lack of rain, a strange event occurred at Lake Kyoga. A lightning strike hit Etemu’s home on Tuesday morning, reducing it to ashes.

A strange bolt of lightning from Lake Kyoga struck a grass-thatched house on Tuesday morning.

The incident left the residents of Bangala A Village, Bangala Parish, Namasale Sub county, Amolatar District, in shock.

According to reports, the house was completely burnt down following the lightning strike.

Etemu Peter, the owner of the affected house, said he was inside when the incident occurred.

He added that his wife and children were not at home at the time.

Etemu was left unconscious for several hours but regained consciousness on Wednesday morning after some rituals were performed.

Amina Akello, another resident of Bangala who witnessed the incident, told Hot FM News that despite the lack of rain, a strange event occurred at Lake Kyoga, resulting in a lightning strike that hit Etemu’s home on Tuesday morning, reducing it to ashes.

Bosco Olumu, an elder and Etemu’s neighbour, said the unusual lightning struck at around 10:30 am.

“When such phenomena occur over the lake, strong winds usually sweep across the land, causing damage to houses. This happens approximately every two years,” Olumu added.
