Mr Peter Okodo donates soybean seeds and a hand hoe to a person with a disability at Star One Hotel, Amolatar.

On 2 May 2025, a significant meeting was held at the Star One Hotel, where Mr Peter Okodo, proprietor of the Jerusalem School of Nursing and Midwifery, extended a generous gesture to persons with disabilities in Amolatar District.

During the event, Mr Okodo donated soybean seeds and a hand hoe, underscoring his belief in the potential of every individual, regardless of their circumstances.

Mr Okodo, who is aspiring to become the Member of Parliament for Kioga North Constituency in the forthcoming 2026 elections, reaffirmed his unwavering support for persons with disabilities, expressing a desire to help them realise their aspirations. “I want each of you to understand that your unique skills are valuable,” he stated, urging them to embrace their abilities with confidence. His commitment extended beyond Kioga North, as he pledged to support persons with disabilities throughout the entire district.

At the same event, Caroline Ajok, the council representative for persons with disabilities in Arwotchek Sub-county, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr Okodo.
“No one has ever provided such assistance before,” she remarked, noting that her appreciation was not only for the tangible items, but also for the hope and encouragement they symbolised. Ajok pledged her full support for Mr Okodo come election day, reflecting growing trust in his vision and leadership.

Similarly, Jimmy Eling, a representative from Abeja Sub-county, commended Mr Okodo for his supportive remarks and his commitment to education. He highlighted the significance of Mr Okodo’s promise to create educational opportunities for children with disabilities—an assurance rarely made by other political figures.
“Your voice gives us hope,” Eling stated, emphasising the impact of Mr Okodo’s pledges.

Betty Auma, another council representative, also conveyed her appreciation for the donation of soybean seeds and the hand hoe, stressing the importance of electing leaders with both vision and compassion.
“We will rally behind a leader like you, who genuinely supports all individuals,” she said, echoing the sentiments shared by many in attendance.
