A legacy of love and Togetherness proclaim as thousands say Goodbye to Monica Engor Etuu

On the somber day of June 5th, 2025, the village of Akaoidebe in Agwingiri sub-county, along with the entire Amolatar and Lango region, came together in profound mourning to bid farewell to a beloved figure—Monica Engor Etuu.

 At just 37 years old, Monica’s life was tragically cut short after a courageous battle with Norsal cancer.

During the emotional ceremony, Catechist Peter Josphine Amai delivered a touching eulogy that resonated deeply with all in attendance. His words painted a picture of Monica not merely as a teacher at Aninolala Primary School, but as a beacon of love and unity within the community.

 He called upon local politicians and community leaders to embrace Monica’s legacy, urging them to set aside their differences and work collectively for the betterment of the community she loved so dearly.

As mourners listened, it became clear that Monica’s influence extended far beyond her classroom walls.

She was not only a dedicated educator but also a devoted mother to her four children, who were her greatest pride.

Her unwavering dedication to both her profession and family served as an inspiration to those around her.

Despite her illness, Monica remained a pillar of strength, demonstrating an indomitable spirit that encouraged many to persevere through their adversities.

Catechist Amai’s eulogy served as a powerful reminder that even in the face of sorrow, the community could draw strength from each other and from the values Monica embodied. “Monica’s spirit will continue to guide her children and inspire those who were touched by her kindness,” he proclaimed. With these heartfelt words, he urged everyone present to honor her memory by fostering solidarity—an appeal that echoed throughout the gathering.

Also, Nyanga Edmond chairperson Unatu Amolatar, as a teacher under Unatu, Monica has not only imparted knowledge but also instilled values that will guide her students long after they leave her classroom.

Nyanga added that, she has fostered a spirit of inquiry and encouraged each student to explore their potential, always reminding them that learning is a lifelong journey.

”As we bid farewell, we want you to know that your legacy will continue here. The lessons you’ve taught us and the love you’ve shown will carry on in the hearts of many. We are grateful for every moment we shared, every laugh, every challenge, and every triumph.” Nyanga added.

In celebrating Monica Engor Etuu’s life, mourners were reminded of the profound impact she had on countless lives.

Her story serves as a testament to the strength found in love and resilience, a guiding light amidst darkness.

As the village of Akaoidebe reflects on their profound loss, they find solace in the fact that Monica’s legacy is one of hope and unity—a legacy that they, too, are called to uphold.

Together, as a community, they vowed to carry forward her teachings, to nurture the bonds of friendship and cooperation she so cherished
