Mr. Omara Joe Makim has officially joined the race for the Kioga County parliamentary seat, becoming one of over 400 candidates to pick up nomination forms under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket.
On June 13, 2025, Omara marked this significant step toward his ambition of representing Kioga County in the 12th Parliament.
A well-known mobilizer with the Patriotic League of Uganda, Omara has gained recognition across the country for his dedicated efforts in support of President Museveni.
In his thirties, he is described as a charismatic and articulate individual with the potential to drive transformative change in Kioga County.
Over the years, Omara has made substantial contributions to the residents of Kioga and Amolatar districts.
His initiatives include the construction of churches, schools, and hospitals, demonstrating his commitment to improving local infrastructure.
Additionally, he has actively supported various savings groups, repaired boreholes, constructed vital roads, and extended aid to women’s groups, orphans, widows, and the elderly, showcasing his devotion to community service.
Upon collecting his nomination form, Omara articulated his vision for Kioga County, pledging to be a voice for the people.
He emphasized the urgent need for representation that addresses the limited service delivery in the area, along with the growing unemployment rate among the youth. He stated, “Amolatar, being the center of Uganda, lacks the indicators of its centrality, and it is high time we intervened with good leadership to foster development.”
As the campaign trail heats up, Omara Joe Makim is poised to inspire and galvanize the electorate, urging them to rally behind him for a brighter future.
His commitment to uplifting his community resonates strongly, as he seeks to secure their trust and votes in the upcoming elections.
