A police officer in Kwania district has shot dead a 28 year old man who attempted to foil the arrest of his twin brother.According to the deceased’s uncle, Richard Beja, a resident of Ogwil village, Ogwil parish in Ayabi Sub county, the incident happened last night when police had gone to arrest a one Robinson Ocen.

Beja said police went there at around 12:50am to carry out the arrest after a case of threatening violence was recorded by a one Sarah Dilla. It’s alleged Ocen had given Dilla who lives at his uncle’s home some chicken to rear, however when he went to ask for them, the chicken were not there and Dilla couldn’t explain why.

Ocen reportedly started threatening Dilla, asking her to leave his uncle’s place or else something bad would happen to her. Dilla reported the matter to police.

However when police went to excute the arrest last night, it’s reported Ocen’s brother, Derrick Opio stormed with a panga and started fighting one of the police officers who allegedly fired bullets to scare Opio away, unfortunately he was shot dead from the head.
