Moses Enyangu the Dokolo district UPC chairperson is in trouble for assault.According to the Dokolo Resident District Commissioner, Barbara Akech, the suspect, Moses Enyangu, was arrested following a case reported earlier this year by the NRM administrative secretary for Dokolo District, John Bosco Otoke.
Akech said it’s alleged that on January 22nd, 2026, Enyangu and his colleagues reportedly waylaid Otoke as he travelled to Okwalongwen subcounty, assualted and robbed off him money reportedly meant to facilitate NRM agents in the area.
She adds that although the matter was reported to Dokolo Central Police Station on the same day, Enyangu was only arrested on March 17th, 2026, after he reported to police to record his statement.
Akech has warned political actors against engaging in violence during the campaign period. She urged those with grievances to resolve their differences peacefully and amicably.
The District Police Commander for Dokolo, Patience Bangazi, confirmed that a case of simple robbery was registered at Dokolo Central Police Station under SD reference 09/22/01/26.
Meanwhile, Otoke claims that Enyangu and his aides used a vehicle to trail him and even attempted to knock him down while he was on a motorcycle. He says the boda boda rider diverted into a nearby home for safety, but they were followed, assaulted, and robbed.
Otoke said he lost two mobile phones and cash amounting to 2.5 million shillings, which he says was intended to support NRM agents in Okwalongwen Sub-county.
He further alleges that the incident disrupted their campaign activities, contributing to the loss of their LC5 candidate, James Otoo Apili as he was unable to coordinate agents effectively.
