Improved Performance as UNEB Releases Final Results Under Old UCE Curriculum

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released the examination results for the final group learners under the lower secondary old curriculum, revealing a modest improvement in performance compared to the previous year. 

According to Dan Odongo, the Executive Director of UNEB, 346,816 out of 361,695 candidates who presented themselves in the 2023 examination have achieved results qualifying them to advance to the next educational level.

Odongo made the remarks yesterday afternoon (Thursday) while presenting the examination results to the public during an event held at Nakasero State House .

According to his statement, 95.9 percent of the candidates who appeared for the examination successfully passed.

This reflects a 0.5 percent improvement in performance compared to the 2022 results, where the pass rate stood at 95.4 percent.

Secondary schools in Kagadi hold celebrations over success in UCE

According to the min-survey done by our reporters across secondary schools in Kagadi District indicates that learners have performed well compared to the results of 2022.

Our News reporters have traversed in different secondary schools like Mother marry High School with 12 1st grades, Kagadi Progressive SS one 1st grade, Buyaga progressive Muhooro 4, Itambiro modern SS Kapyemi 3, London college SS 15, Kagadi secondary school has scored 32 first grades, 131 second grades, 127 third grades, 187 fourth grades and 1 in Division seven, Kagadi peoples SS 12, Bunyoro SS 3 1st grades.

St. Francis Xavier modern O and A level Kinyarugonjo has 31 first grades, while St. Mary’s PRT Kinyarugonjo registered 20 first grades where the best candidate attained 09 aggregates.

United schools SS Kyanaisoke has 20 students in first grade, 26  in division two, 30 in third grade, 10 students in fourth grade and three candidates were ungraded.

Uganda Martyrs SS Mugalike has 4 students in first grade, 35 in division two, 17 in third grade, 30 students in fourth grade and one failed.

Katikengeye Archdeaconry COU Sec School registered 2 Second Grades, 1 third grade and 1 fourth grade.

Christopher Bazarwe, the head teacher of Lake Albert SS Kyaterera says the school has four first grades.

Mabaale Public SS has 09 first grades, 28 second grades, 13 third grades, 33 fourth grades and 01 student came in seventh grade.

Meanwhile St. Edwards Bukumi SS has 33 first grades, 45 second grades, 17 third grades and 8 fourth grades among others.

Head teachers have disclosed gratitude for the performance.
