Lira RCC urges journalists to maintain professionalism on social media

Lawrence Egole, the Resident City Commissioner of Lira has emphasized the critical importance of journalists upholding professionalism amidst the proliferation of dishonest practices on social media platforms.

Egole stressed this during his address yesterday at the inauguration of a two-day training session organized by Community Media Network Uganda (COMNETU) in collaboration with the Finnish Foundation for Media and Development (VIKES).

The training aimed to equip journalists from community radio stations with essential knowledge and skills in marketing and editorial practices.

The workshop, which commenced yesterday, concluded today at Armaflex Hotel in Lira City.

It was primarily facilitated by Mr. Peik Johansson, Markku Liukkonen, and Grace Mazirwe.

Denis Ongom, leading the COMNETU team, expressed appreciation to participants from 22 radio stations for honoring the invitation.

He pledged to communicate soon the dates of an in-house training program for further capacity building among staff members from partner radio stations.
