OPM distributes 560 iron sheets to support schools in Kagadi

Roofing sheets have become an indispensable element in the construction industry, offering a versatile and durable solution for various structures.

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has delivered 560 iron sheets to selected beneficiaries in the Buyaga East constituency of Kagadi district.

State Minister for Bunyoro Affairs, Janepher Namuyangu, handed over the consignment yesterday, September 25, 2024, at the Kagadi district boardroom.

The recipients include six government-aided primary schools: Mabaale, Kyenzige, Kiryanjagi, Nyaisamba, Kasokero, and Ngara, along with Kyanaisoke Catholic Church.

Minister Namuyangu urged beneficiaries to ensure the iron sheets are used for their intended purpose.

Buyaga East Member of Parliament, Eric Musana emphasised the need for quicker government responses to disasters and advised proper utilisation of the materials.

Headteachers from the benefiting institutions expressed gratitude to the government and MP Musana for his leadership and lobbying efforts.

They pledged to use the iron sheets to improve housing conditions at their schools, which suffered damage from recent hailstorms.
