Uganda has been holding elections consistently since the 1980s, at the different levels including Presidential, Parliamentary, District, and Local Councils.
Local Councils are a concept around the lowest political-administrative unit based at the village level.
The Office of the Resident District Commissioner-Kibaale in Bunyoro Sub-region will soon organize an induction program for Local Council (LC) 1 and LC 2 officials to familiarize them with their responsibilities as leaders.
This was revealed yesterday by the Deputy RDC Kibaale district Godfrey Kamagara during a meeting with our reporter at the District headquarters.
Kamagara expressed concerns over complaints received since his tenure began on September 6, 2024, regarding Lc1 and Lc2 chairpersons misusing government stamps.
He emphasized that these stamps are government assets and should be used accordingly.
Additionally, Kamagara warned parish chiefs and ward agents, particularly those involved in the Poverty Development Fund (PDM), to refrain from demanding money from beneficiaries.
