Smiles and jubilation filled the air at JIREH Foundation Nursery and Primary School in Pader District as the school held a thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate the outstanding performance of its 2025 Primary Seven candidates in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The colourful event, held on the school premises, brought together parents, teachers, religious leaders, and well-wishers who gathered to thank God for the success, recognise the pupils’ hard work, and applaud teachers for their continued dedication to academic excellence.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Pader District Education Officer, Margret Alanyo, commended the candidates for their determination and discipline, describing their performance as a source of pride for the district.

The newly promoted headteacher, Irene Akello, expressed gratitude to parents, staff, and partners who have supported the school over the years. She urged the outgoing pupils to remain connected to the school as they transition to different secondary schools, reminding them to uphold the values and discipline instilled during their time at JIREH Foundation.

The school’s Director of Studies, Geoffrey Okello, attributed the excellent performance to strong teamwork between teachers and parents, effective time management, and the dedication of the school’s 33 staff members, who consistently work with minimal supervision.

According to the results released by the Uganda National Examinations Board, the school presented 33 candidates for the 2025 PLE. Of these, 19 pupils passed in First Grade, while 14 passed in Second Grade. The best-performing candidate, 13-year-old Leticia Adong, achieved an impressive Aggregate 5.

As part of the celebrations, First Grade pupils were rewarded with mattresses, while Second Grade pupils received bedsheets. Teachers were also recognised for their contributions with bedsheets in appreciation of their commitment.

The thanksgiving ceremony highlighted the school’s continued dedication to academic excellence and reinforced the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, and pupils in achieving quality education.
