Police in Kitgum investigate another murder case.

Police in Kitgum district are putting to pieces what could have transpired in the murder of a man identified as Odera Jacob by assault.

It is alleged that the deceased, a resident of Labworomor village, Lulwa Parish, Orom sub-county, left home for a trading centre but was waylaid, assaulted and later succumbed to injuries.

The body was found on Wednesday morning by residents of the nearby Dodoma village, Lulwa Parish, Orom Sub County, who immediately alerted local authorities.

The Aswa East spokesperson, AIP Oloya Joe, in a telephone interview confirmed the incident and called on the public to aid in the investigation by providing crucial information to the cause, as no suspect has been arrested so far.

According to the spokesperson, scene of crime officers led by detectives from Kitgum Central Police Station had visited the scene and taken statements, and the body has been taken to Namokora Health Centre IV for a postmortem as the investigation continues.

Gang-related violence has intensified in the area, mostly perpetuated by youths who carry out assaults, thefts, rapes and forcefully take personal belongings.
