In an effort to promote tree planting, both government and private schools are being encouraged to use music, dance, and drama to convey environmental messages to the public. The idea is that while people enjoy the performances, they also receive important messages about conservation.

It should be noted that the eastern region is currently experiencing a dry spell and facing the effects of climate change year after year. As a result, various approaches are being adopted to ensure the message reaches everyone.

According to Mr. Bwiire Dison, the Buyende District Education Officer, schools should embrace drama as an effective tool for communicating environmental awareness to parents and the wider community.

Meanwhile, the LCV Chairperson aspirant and NRM flag bearer, Sharif Managariene, urged the community to actively attend such music festivals, noting that they carry a great deal of meaning.

Buyende District is one of the eleven districts that make up the Busoga region. However, it is currently experiencing poor rainfall, leading to climatic fluctuations. The district is therefore committed to promoting tree planting as a means of improving rainfall patterns and restoring environmental balance.
