Ten confirmed dead in Busowa accident.

At least 10 people have been confirmed dead in a grisly road accident that occurred this afternoon at Busowa Town Council along the Bugiri–Tororo highway.

The tragedy happened when a speeding taxi, registration number UBN 817H, reportedly traveling from the Busia–Iganga direction, lost control and rammed into a stationary trailer, registration UA 647BA, which had parked on the roadside.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the impact was so severe that several passengers died instantly, with survivors sustaining life-threatening injuries. “The taxi was moving at a very high speed. The driver tried to overtake but failed and crashed directly into the trailer,” one eyewitness recounted in shock.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene, and the bodies of the deceased have since been conveyed to a nearby health facility for identification, while the injured have been taken for emergency medical attention.

Authorities have launched investigations into the cause of the crash.
