Local government driver remanded after fatal collision with protester in Kagadi

In a tragic incident, the Kagadi grade one magistrate’s court, presided over by his worship Edward Kayuki, has taken decisive action following a fatal collision.

Yesterday (6th 03 2024), the court remanded a Kagadi district government driver to Mabungu Government Prison on charges of causing death through reckless driving.

The accused, Tibihikira Stephen, Known as City, aged 38 and a resident of Mugalike Lc1, Kitema Parish in Kyenzige Sub-County Kagadi district, stands accused of causing the death of Magezi Tuhaise, aged 25, a boda boda rider and resident of Rwensonzi cell in Kayanja parish, Mahirirwe Sub-County.

This tragic incident occurred on February 26th, 2024, at approximately 9:30 am in Igurika cell, Muhorro town council, along the Muhorro-Ndaiga road.

Appearing before the court, Tibihikira pleaded not guilty.

However, his plea did not prevent the court from taking action.

Tibihikira has been remanded to Mambugu Government Prison in Kagadi district until March 26, 2024, when he is scheduled to appear in court for further mention of his case.
