66 ghost census enumerators who were smuggled into the Kagadi District list of successful candidates for the position of census enumerators 2024 have today been officially kicked out and their names replaced with new genuine candidates.
This development has been confirmed by Mr. Robert Mugabi, deputy CAO for Kagadi district local government, during an exclusive interview with KKCR FM.
On Friday last week, the office of RDC Kagadi led by Ms. Lilian Ruteraho publicly cancelled and suspended the list of successful candidates for the position of census enumerators that was released by the Kagadi district census committee after complaints of corruption, bribery and nepotism were reported to the RDC’s office.
These cases were cited in sub counties of Buhumuliro, Kabamba, Kinyarugonjo, Kamuroza, Bwikara, and Mabaale Town council, among others.
Intelligence found out that interviews were done to fulfil the requirements but jobs were given out based on technical knowhow.
The Kagadi deputy CAO has confirmed that out of 112 persons that were reported to have infiltrated the exercise, at least 66 persons were indeed found to have been smuggled into the exercise as census enumerators without doing the interviews and with no minimum prerequisite qualifications.
Robert has revealed that the 66 infiltrators have been kicked out of the list and their names replaced with new genuine candidates.
The deputy CAO has gone ahead to warn his district staff manning the census exercise who aided the wrong persons to infiltrate the system stressing that they will be summoned for disciplinary action.
On the other hand, Robert has confirmed that the population census materials have already arrived in the district thus rallying all successful census enumerators and supervisors to turn up for training slated for today at their respective training centers.
