BACKGROUND OF KKCR (91.7 FM)
This is the first community radio station in Uganda based in
Kagadi Town Council of Kibaale district mid-western
Uganda. KKCR is a product of partnership between the
communities in Kibaale and the URDT an indigenous
nongovernmental organization and it’s regulated by Uganda
Communication Commission (UCC)


KKCR is part of East African community media Programme
(EACMP) initiated in 1992 after the RIO World Earth
Summit in De-janairo Brazil. It has strong orientation to
Environmental Management and people participation in
decision making about the action points of the agenda 21.


The radio has primarily a developmental function. It has an
open-door policy and acts as platform to community members
and development partners to share sustainable development,
thoughts no decision making, accountability, good
governance, environment human rights, health and nutrition,
agriculture and service delivery.
