The Member of Parliament for Bugabula South, Hon. Henry Morris Kibalya, has officially opened a fully equipped hospital in his constituency, fulfilling a long-held dream to address the growing demand for quality health services in the area.

Speaking during the official launch, Hon. Kibalya said it had always been his vision to ensure that the people of Bugabula South have access to a hospital with comprehensive medical facilities. While Kamuli district has other government health facilities, Bugabula South has only had Namwendwa Health Centre IV in Namwendwa subcounty, which, according to residents, has not been serving the community to expectations.

Representing the Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the District Health Inspector, Dr. Namukooli Ritah, officiated the opening ceremony. She urged mothers and the wider community to fully utilise the new hospital now that quality services are within reach. Dr. Ritah also encouraged the public to abandon traditional healers, especially since they are unable to provide critical services such as surgical operations.

Dr. Ritah further revealed that the government is willing to support the facility, acknowledging that it may be difficult for an individual to run a hospital of such capacity. She noted that it would require over 100 health workers to operate efficiently.

Hon. Kibalya emphasised that ever since he joined politics, his mission has been to serve the community, and the launch of the hospital marks the realisation of that mission. He reassured residents that services at the hospital would be provided free of charge and promised to offer the best care possible to his constituents.
