In a decisive move aimed at fostering a conducive learning environment, Muntu Seed Senior Secondary School has instituted a ban on the wearing of inappropriate attire within its premises. In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Head Teacher Mr. Ogangi Geoffrey elaborated on this new policy, emphasizing its significance in enhancing students’ academic performance.
Mr. Ogangi highlighted that the school maintains strict monitoring protocols at the entrance, where students found wearing excessively short clothing are promptly dismissed. “An improper dress code creates distractions that can detract from the focus and seriousness required for academic success,” he stated, underscoring the link between a respectful appearance and improved concentration in studies.
When addressing the newly revised A-Level curriculum, Mr. Ogangi encouraged parents to enroll their children, assuring them that the changes have made the curriculum more straightforward and accessible. “We aim to simplify the path to academic achievement, and we believe this revised curriculum will better serve our students’ educational needs,” he explained.
Furthermore, Mr. Ogangi called upon parents to ensure that their children are equipped with the necessary resources to thrive in school.
He expressed concern about the rising incidence of suicide among young students and highlighted the vital role parental support plays in safeguarding mental health. “It is crucial for parents to stay actively involved in their children’s education and well-being,” he urged.
To further support students, Muntu Seed has adopted a nurturing approach by grouping students under the guidance of a single teacher who acts as a family leader. This system not only fosters discipline but also provides students with a safe space to voice any concerns they might have.
Muntu Seed Senior Secondary School is committed to upholding a dress code that reflects the institution’s values while prioritizing the welfare and academic success of its students. With collective efforts from parents, students, and teachers, the school aims to cultivate an environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
