President Museveni mourns Kwania District NRM Chairman

Government chief whip Denis Hamson Obua delivering his message to mourners

Government, family and friends yesterday bid farewell to the late Sammy Omara Angai the Kwania District National Resistance Movement- Party Chairman who died from St Pope John Hospital Aber in Oyam district on Tuesday 22nd Feb 2023.

During the burial ceremony in Amwak village, Ongoceng parish, Aduku Sub County in Kwania District, the government chief whip and the Ajuri county legislator Hon Denis Hamson Obua represented President Yoweri Museveni.

In his eulogy,  President Museveni said he  received, with profound sorrow, the news announcing the death of Sam Omara Angai, which occurred on the fateful morning of the 22nd of February, 2023.

“On behalf of the Government of Uganda, on behalf of the NRM Party and on my own behalf, I extend heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the wife, children and relatives of the late Sammy Omara Angai, upon the loss of a dear husband and father. I commiserate with the people of Kwania, Lango and all Ugandans, upon the loss of a selfless and patriotic leader,” Museveni said.

“In this hour of grief, I pray that the Almighty God grants the bereaved family the courage and strength to go through this trying moment. Sammy Omara has departed from us after distinguished service to Lango and to Uganda at large,” Museveni said.

He said the death of Sammy Omara has robbed the NRM Party of a loyal cadre and mobiliser in Lango Sub-region who served his Party and Country with diligence and patriotism and he shall forever be missed.

The President also offered his condolence of 10 million Uganda shillings which was also handed over to the family by the government chief whip Hon Denis Hamson Obua.

The government chief whip Denis Hamson Obua took time also to personally eulogise the late Sammy Omara Angai as a very dedicated servant who used to wholly offer his time for NRM party and the community and he will be dearly missed.

The late Omara served as Aduku Sub County LCIII Chairperson for over 15 years and by the time of death he was in active service as the District NRM Chairperson Kwania.
