Two suspects who escaped from Apac Central Police Cells re-arrested

Police in Apac and Kwania districts in a joint operation have re-arrested two suspects who escaped from lawful custody last Sunday. The two suspects were in safekeeping at Apac Central police station.

The Apac District police commander Mr. Wilson Ndaula revealed to Radio Apac when contacted about the development when contacted.

Ndaula said the two suspects fled after cutting the roof of the police cell leaving other suspects behind bar.

He however blamed the incident on old and scrawny Iron sheets of the police cell calling upon government to urgently have plan for renovation to combat happenings of a similar nature.

North Kyoga police mouthpiece SP Okema Jimmy confirmed the development identifying the escapees as Ogwal Ambrose who was arrested on a case of stealing a motorcycle and Okello Tony on a case of theft of domestic birds (one hen).

By press time, the two were being paraded to court to answer the two charges against each of them.
