Lango musicians get organised under Uganda Musicians Association

The Uganda Musicians Association’s Lango chapter has formulated its leadership edifice just days after the appointment of Mr. Maros Caesar Atine aka Prof Maros as the Lango regional coordinator.

The development came early this week on Wednesday during the Lango Musicians meeting which took place at Grand Pacific Hotel in Lira City.

The meeting was able to formulate UMA structure for Lango sub-region with Maros Caesar Atine aka Prof Maros as the chairperson who later appointed his cabinet including Tommy Okot aka Tommy Decoths as the vice chairperson, Tia Geoffrey aka Brazen Rule as the treasurer, Pk De Lions as the secretary, Bee Pee as the spokesperson, Dr Flexy, Jay Murphy Atinker, Vera among other Lango artists.

This progress follows a press release by the Uganda Musicians Association announcing new appointments of regional coordinators and advisory teams as part of their continuing obligations to strengthen its representation and support for musicians across the country.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Apac Maros Atine the Lango subregion coordinator welcomed the appointment and promised to deliver to the best of his ability inorder for Lango artist to also be pictured not only nationally but also internationalwise.

Atine however called upon the artist to act systematized this time as they look forward to lobbying for available opportunities associated to the industry.

He said as Lango Artists, they will focus on accelerating the much-anticipated change in the industry and building their capacities in order for the artists not only to rely on music but also have other side hustles that can continuously earn them a living.

Among other coordinators appointed are Maria A for Acholi subregion, Kenedy Madira for West Nile sub-region, Muzaale Geoffrey for Busoga sub-region among others.

According to the UMA president Ms. Cinderella Sanyu Okuyo aka Cindy Sanyu recently, the appointed regional coordinators were selected basing on the commitments and a deep passion for music they were able to demonstrate for the betterment of the industry.

Uganda Musicians Association is a representative body for musicians in Uganda dedicated to promoting and supporting the music industry, the body has over 4,000 members with aims of protecting the rights of its members, connect musicians with supporters and ensure the growth and sustainability of the Ugandan Music industry.
