Teachers of Kwera Senior Secondary School, a government aided school in Kwera Sub-county, Dokolo District, are on the spotlights over low enrollment of the students.

This statement came yesterday during the Annual General Meeting at the school where the school head and the teachers of Kwera SS were allegedly accused of engaging in wrangles which is a major factor leading to the poor performance and low number of students.

During the meeting, parents and school management committee resolved that, the headteacher and some teachers should be transferred due to the poor working relationship that has cropped between the headteacher and some teachers.

Alleged Report indicates that the headteacher of Kwera SS, Mr. Paul Robinson Ato and his teachers has been in loggerheads since last year which contributed to the poor results of UCE last year.

Other resolutions are; indiscipline students to be expelled from school, parents tasked to pay school fees and contribute towards building teacher’s houses among others.

While chairing the meeting, the chairman Board of Governors, Charles Ocero Okello, tasked the headteacher and the teachers to make sure Kwera S.S gets 20 first grade this year lest they risk losing their jobs.

Ocero warned indiscipline students and teaching staffs to change with immediate effect, otherwise the school management committee will not tolerate their unbecoming behaviors which is leading to poor performance.

However, the headteacher Mr. Ato disregarded the accusation put against him saying he has worked very hard to improve the school amidst many challenges. He noted that the major problem challenging his administration is poor payment of school fees by parents and lack of teachers’ houses.

The students who spoke to our reporter, noted that wrangles between teachers and the headteacher and poor payment of school fees are the factors irritating their performance.
