The Uganda Police Force successfully conducted a recruitment exercise for police constables at Patongo Akwee Primary School in Patongo town council, Agago district, on Saturday, May 3.
The exercise was overseen by a recruitment team from Police Headquarters in Kampala, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Barugahare Christopher, in collaboration with the Agago District Police Commander and his team.
The process was also witnessed by key district leaders, including the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mr Kidega James Nabinson and the LC V Chairperson of Agago District, who were present to ensure transparency and integrity during the exercise.
ACP Barugahare addressed the recruits before the start of the interviews, emphasising that the recruitment process was free of charge and based strictly on merit. He cautioned candidates against paying money to anyone in exchange for recruitment and urged them to report such cases. A toll-free police hotline was shared with the applicants for this purpose.
The exercise saw a strong turnout, with 128 candidates reporting for interviews. Of these, 94 were male and 34 were female. However, three candidates were unable to meet the requirements and did not proceed further in the process.
The event was noted for its orderly and professional conduct and reflects the Uganda Police Force’s ongoing commitment to building a competent and community-oriented force through fair and transparent recruitment practices.
