Hon. Nandala secures another term as BCU Chairman

The chairperson Bugisu Cooperative Union, Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi expressed gratitude towards the farmers for trusting him and his board to lead the union for another term.

He also committed to continue lobbying for the union, creating more bursaries for students and putting in place all the resolutions reached by the farmers and the board. He made the remarks during the Union’s Annual General Meeting that took place yesterday at the BCU factory in Mbale City.

The RDC Bulambuli district, Stanely Banyole also encouraged the farmers and the union to allocate the many acres of land that is dormant in the district for coffee growth so as to increase production.

He further thanked the chairman of Bugisu Cooperative Union, Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi for the quality work and coffee produced by the union. Mr Banyole, further called upon the security authorities to safe guard the land of the union that is being unlawfully possessed by the local leaders in his area of jurisdiction.

The state minister for Trade and Unions, Francis Ngobi Ngume, thanked and congratulated the union board for ensuring quality products reach the consumers. He also encouraged the farmers to embrace government programs like the Parish Development Model to eradicate poverty.
