Locals in Pajule Praised PDM During Formation of Group Executives

The parish development model (PDM) beneficiaries in Oryang and Otok parishes, Pajule sub-county in Pader district have appreciated and welcomed the project hailing it will be of developmental to source and curb poverty from the households last week during a meeting with the district officials.

Francis Okello, a local from Oryang parish in Pajule sub-count, Pader district appreciated the efforts rendered to the groups in the form of training of the beneficiaries. He added that the process needs to be sped up for it to help the needy.

Mr. Simon Peter Okot, the Pajule sub-county assistant secretary, said that the PDM will not fail because many people are interested in the project which is pending start. 

He added that shillings 8,050,000 was disbursed to each group in Pajule sub-county in the last financial year, but it will be procedural since there are changing guidelines that may affect the project once tampered with.

Mr. Alex Chelimo, the Pader district chief administrative officer said that the PDM guidance is not clear, but hopeful that training of the relevant officers will enable the groups to access the money. He added that more money will be added to the already disbursed one to the tune of shillings 100 million.

There are 97 SAACOs in Pader district that are entitled to receive the 1,649,000,000 shillings where each SAACO received 17 million shillings for the project.
