Kioga county Member of parliament on Tuesday 6th May 2024 hands over seven hand tractors to the youth groups and one big tractor.
In an event that took place at boma ground Amolatar the area Member of Parliament Hon. Junior Moses Okot B’tek said he thought it otherwise to start by training the operators before giving it out.
He however caution the youth leaders who think they will make money and enjoy urging that each group will open an account at bank to help save the money that will in turn help every group member.
Okot said that the hand tractor will hold committee of chairperson local council three and youth leaders.
Hon. Okot promised to add more tractors for his constituency.
He also advises them to charge not more than forty thousand per hectors.
Meanwhile the guest of Honor at the function the resident district commissioner Francis Odoki Rwotlonyo applauded Hon Okot for what he has done for the youth.
He added that with the current leadership of Amolatar the district will shine.
He also thanked his Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the fundamental change that they see now.
“The change we see now is according to the effort of the president that said in 1996.’’ Said RDC Okello.
He also praised the current leaders for working with NRM government beside political difference.
He also asked leaders at the sub county to do proper guidance and take all that they get from the government as ours that need maintenance for long duration.
However chairperson local council Five Hon Geoffrey Ocen Kiring asked the president of Uganda His Excellency through Resident district commissioner Rwotlonyo Okello for the good road that will help youth reach good market for their produce after harvest.
He also appealed to farmers to use the tractor to eradicate food insecurity remaining native on how tough it is becoming to use the Lake as source of food.
The chief Administrative officer Mpiiwa Paul thanked ministry of Agriculture for considering Kyoga constituency as one of the beneficiaries.
He said that the tractor will increase agricultural inputs in at different homes.
Calvin Opolot youth chairperson Lango thanked the present for thinking about the youth. He said Uganda has a vision of seeing that by 2040 every one is living good life.
He also asked youth leaders to be trust worthy if the tractor should help them,.
He as well thanked Hon. Okot for delivering the hand tractor to the beneficiaries who have yarned for long.
Uganda government through the ministry of Agriculture last year gave hand tractors to all the Northern districts in Uganda.
