Amolatar PWDs appreciate Hon. Dr. Agnes Atim Apea’s distribution of chicks

On June 13, 2024, Hon. Dr. Agnes Atim Apea distributed over 3,000 Kuroiler chicks to persons with disabilities across all sixteen Subcounties in Amolatar district. This initiative, praised by local leaders and beneficiaries alike, aims to combat poverty and promote self-sufficiency among the disabled.

While leading the distribution, Hon. Ketty Etap, the district councilor representing women with disabilities, urged recipients to properly care for the chicks so they can thrive. Etap also applauded Hon. Dr. Agnes Atim Apea, Woman MP, for recognising their desire for development.

Hon. Otaka Kamilo, the male representative for persons with disabilities in Amolatar district, urged beneficiaries to care for the chicks passionately to help combat poverty among the PWDs. “Hon. Dr. Agnes Atim Apea is a dedicated Member of Parliament in Amolatar, helping every category of people,” said Hon. Otaka Kamilo. “With this support from Hon. Dr. Agnes Atim, we don’t want to see persons with disabilities begging but thriving like everyone else,” he added.

Meanwhile, Local Council Chairperson III Hon. Tonny Amuka thanked Dr. Agnes Atim Apea for her love for all people, urging the PWDs to utilise their time and care for the chicks. “Most Members of Parliament are not doing what Woman MP Dr. Agnes is doing; they only consider their own pockets,” he said.

However, Erwot Betty, one of the beneficiaries and the vice chairperson of Aputi Subcounty, applauded Hon. Dr. Agnes Atim Apea for her support and urged her peers to work hard and achieve success.

Another beneficiary, Obira Isaac, said the donation would help lift persons with disabilities out of poverty and allow them to thrive like others. Each of the over 300 persons with disabilities who received chicks took home 10 each. Over 3,000 Kuroiler chicks were distributed.
