On 27 April 2025, Kyoga North Constituency was filled with joy and appreciation as Peter Okodo, a candidate in the forthcoming 2026 parliamentary elections, fulfilled several key commitments he had made to the local Christian community.
Demonstrating his dedication to community development and support, Okodo’s actions were met with widespread praise and enthusiasm from local residents.
At Akukuru St John the Baptist Church, Okodo contributed UGX 500,000 towards the church’s cementing project — a gesture that earned him commendation from Mr Okwir Sam, head of the building committee.
The congregation at St John the Baptist Church warmly pledged their full support for Okodo’s candidacy, highlighting not only his generosity but also his potential as a future leader.
Similarly, at Akukuru St Matthew Church, Okodo donated ten bags of cement. Sam Odongo, Chairperson of the Fathers’ Union, expressed gratitude for Okodo’s unwavering commitment to community projects and offered prayers for his success in the upcoming election.
The congregation joined in expressing their heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging the tangible impact of Okodo’s contributions on the church’s development.
At Elim Church in Akukuru Village, Okodo continued his acts of goodwill by donating ten bags of cement along with tents to provide shade during gatherings. Allan Okello, Chairperson of Elim Church, praised Okodo’s significant efforts and encouraged him to maintain his momentum in supporting community initiatives.
Wange Denis and Sarah Orech, members of Elim Church, expressed strong support for Okodo, emphasising that his actions genuinely reflect his commitment to the people of Kyoga North.
Beyond his contributions to local churches, Okodo fulfilled his promise to provide uniforms and footballs to two local teams—Agriculture and Anamwany Loyal Star. Ambrose Omara, captain of Agriculture, praised the gesture, noting that such support would help to enhance the team’s talent and performance on the field.
In addition to these endeavours, Okodo supplied 20 plastic chairs to Awonangiro Chapel and made a generous donation of UGX 1 million to St Thomas Church of Uganda, Awonangiro. Each act further solidified his reputation as a dedicated philanthropist, with a clear focus on uplifting his community through meaningful contributions.
As Peter Okodo continues to actively engage with and support various community organisations, his efforts stand as a testament to his vision for Kyoga North.
With each commitment fulfilled, Okodo strengthens his bond with the constituency, fostering a spirit of unity and optimism as the 2026 elections approach.
His actions show that community joy is often born from genuine compassion and a dedication to making a positive difference.
