A concerned individual representing the workers league in Amolatar has submitted a petition to the chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission regarding the absence of a voter register for the NRM workers league in Amolatar district.

In a petition letter, which Hot FM has obtained a copy dated May 19, 2025, and acknowledged by Diso, DPC, district Registrar, and RDC, the individual expressed their concerns about the workers league election in Amolatar district, which is currently plagued by significant procedural and structural irregularities.

They further stated that, according to reports from the district registrar and administrative secretary, there is no existing membership register for the workers league in the district.

This critical deficiency renders it impossible to authenticate the legitimacy of individuals claiming to be delegates or members of the league.

Additionally, the district registrar has confirmed that no union has been elected, nor has any representative been appointed, and no processes have been initiated to elect delegates for non-unionized members.

Consequently, this indicates that no verifiable elections have occurred at any level to select delegates in accordance with the party’s constitutional and electoral procedures.

The guidelines for the election of the workers league, specifically section 15(c)(i), clearly outline the eligibility criteria for candidacy.

Any individual who is a member of a labor union, whose name is listed in the NRM voters register, and who holds a National Identity Card, shall be qualified to run for election in the district where they are registered.

The concerned individual is now seeking an urgent investigation into this matter and requests the suspension of any ongoing or scheduled election activities related to the workers league in Amolatar district until a verified register is established.

Promptly commence the registration process for workers in Amolatar who are affiliated with the NRM, along with the election of delegates to form the district workers league.

It is imperative that both unionized and non-unionized workers are permitted to engage in this process in a fair and legal manner.

The individual who signed are Mr. Ebine Tonny candidates for chairperson workers league, Ogwal Kenneth candidate’s chairperson workers league, Mr, Ojok Bleo candidates for general secretary workers league and Olal Joel candidate publicity workers league.

The election of non-unionized will take place at district level on Thursday 22nd.May.2025 at every district head HQ according to chairperson, NRM Electoral commission Dr. Tanga Odoi.
