The RPC of North Kyoga, SSP Doka Rashid, proudly announced this morning the official handover of a new patrol car, registration number UP 03341, designated for Ogur Central Police Station (CPS) in Lira District.

This significant delivery was facilitated by the Regional Police Headquarters at Erute, under the leadership of IP Otuba Solomon from the Police Fleet Management unit at the Directorate of Logistics and Engineering.

The establishment of the district has brought a range of challenges, particularly in addressing operational issues that hinder effective law enforcement.

However, the introduction of this new patrol vehicle is expected to greatly enhance crime management capabilities and improve emergency response times in the area.

North Kyoga police spokesperson, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, commended the senior leadership of the Uganda Police Force for their commitment to equipping unit commanders with the necessary resources to provide effective policing services within their designated areas of responsibility.

He added that the new vehicle marks the third patrol car received by the units, following recent acquisitions by Otuke and Kole.

SP Okema also reminded unit commanders of their responsibility to ensure effective control, command, and coordination regarding the proper use and maintenance of the vehicle, to maximise its impact on community safety.
