PADER – Film 256, with support from the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), has launched a one-week training program in Pader district aimed at equipping over 100 youths with digital skills to generate income through social media.
According to Zeemba Joshua, the Managing Director of Film 256 Uganda, many young people remain idle despite owning smartphones, using them primarily for entertainment rather than financial gain. The training focuses on digital marketing, content creation, and online entrepreneurship to help participants harness the power of social media for economic opportunities.
Participants, including Obal Walter and Okello Daudi Alli, expressed enthusiasm about the program, noting that it offers them valuable insights into earning through social media platforms.
“This training is an eye-opener. We are learning how to turn our time online into a source of income,” said Okello Daudi Alli.
The week-long sessions will provide hands-on experience, empowering the trainees to leverage digital tools for financial independence. Organisers hope the initiative will inspire more young people to explore social media as a business platform rather than just a source of entertainment.
