A total of 23 candidates from Pader district have been chosen to join the Uganda Police Force as probationer police constables. This selection follows rigorous interviews conducted from May 6 to 13, 2024. Initially 33 candidates were shortlisted, but 10 were subsequently eliminated from contention.
Northern Uganda will contribute a total of 184 candidates to the training program, with significant numbers from various districts: 36 from Gulu city, 27 from Agago district, 26 from Kitgum district, 19 from Lamwo district, 17 from Amuru district, 15 from Nwoya district, and 21 from Omoro district.
Aswa East Regional Police Commander ACP Anatoli Katungwensi has authenticated the accuracy of the released candidate lists.
Brigadier Jesse Kamunanwire, the Police Human Resource Director, has outlined the necessary requirements for the candidates. They must present original academic transcripts, four passport-size photographs, gumboots, a slasher, and other specified items upon reporting.
This initiative marks a significant step in bolstering the police force with newly trained constables from diverse districts across Northern Uganda, thereby enhancing law enforcement capabilities in the region.
