New hydro power investor seeks land in Pader

Pader district leaders yesterday, 15th April 2924 held a consultative meeting at the district headquarters with technocrats from Pader hydro power company limited in relation to a proposed 15MW hydro power project to be stationed at Agweng village, Awere sub county, Pader district.
According to Prince Engineer Doctor Edward Kimbugwe, the Chief Executive Officer Pader Hydro Power company limited, they plan to construct a substation at Bolo-Agweng worth 33KiloVolts that can supply power to the entire district.
The project, according to the CEO, costs approximately 60 million USD of which 6% of the money will be for the local content.
Mwaka Calvin Lukwiya, the Awere sub county Chairperson welcomes the project.
Col (rtd) Fearless Obwoya Oyat Pader district LCV chairperson appeals to anyone who might be negative towards the development to pull off so that it helps those that seem to be interested. He said the intruder will be taken as a rebel to the community.
