Muntu Seed Secondary School is proud to reflect on its recent participation in the regional games of the Uganda Secondary Schools Football Association, held in Lira city last week.
The school’s headteacher, Mr Ogangi Geoffrey, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported the team during this competitive event.
In his statement, Mr Ogangi specifically acknowledged the unwavering support from the Kioga County Member of Parliament, Hon. Jonior Okot Btek.
He emphasised that Hon. Btek’s unwavering support has been instrumental to the school and its sporting initiatives. “Your commitment to our school and your belief in our potential have not gone unnoticed,” Mr Ogangi remarked.
Furthermore, he extended his sincere thanks to the parents of the students who represented both the district and Muntu Seed. “We deeply appreciate your trust in us with your children. Your support fuels their passion for sports and helps nurture their talents,” he added.
The games teacher, Mr Opio Erick, also shared insights regarding the matches. Despite being placed in a strong group, the team performed admirably, finishing in third place.
Mr Opio expressed gratitude to Hon. Okot for providing the school with a flat that serves as a crucial resource for enhancing sports talent within the institution. “This facility plays a significant role in our sports development programme,” he stated.
The school captain, Eyimu Job, echoed the team’s determination and commitment to representing their district. He underscored his gratitude towards Hon. Btek for supporting all teams participating on behalf of the district. “Without your backing, our journey would be much more challenging,” Eyimu noted.
Additionally, he expressed appreciation for the opportunities provided by the headteacher and administration, stating, “Thank you for believing in us and allowing us to compete at this level.”
Eyimu also took the opportunity to address concerns regarding next year’s events, urging those responsible for sports in Amolatar to consider hosting competitions closer to their locality. He raised awareness about the need for fairness in officiating, emphasising the importance of protecting rural school teams from potential bias by referees. “We hope for an environment where every team is treated equally, regardless of their background,” he urged.
Muntu Seed Secondary School remains dedicated to strengthening its sports programmes and looks forward to continued support from the community in nurturing future talent.
