The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in Amolatar District has reached a consensus to conduct a unified campaign following the NRM primaries, with all party candidates agreeing to work as a team.
During a meeting held on 1st July 2025, which brought together all NRM candidates—from district councillors to parliamentary aspirants—a coordinated campaign roadmap was drawn up to ensure joint mobilisation efforts across the district.
For the Woman Member of Parliament seat and the District Chairperson position, the candidates will campaign together in all 16 sub-counties.
While addressing the candidates, NRM Administrative Secretary Pule Boniface urged them to strictly adhere to the party’s guidelines, warning that any violation could result in disqualification.
He also called on NRM sub-county chairpersons to warmly welcome the candidates as they campaign in their respective areas.
Following the meeting, Col. John Francis Ongia, a candidate for Kioga County, expressed his support for the initiative and called for peaceful campaigns.
He also encouraged the electorate to value themselves and choose a leader of their own preference.
Additionally, Felix Adupa Ongwech, another candidate for Kioga County, expressed his support for the initiative and urged voters to focus on the most compelling manifesto when making their choice.
Meanwhile, Mr Odongo Isaac Ekuu, a candidate for Kioga North, expressed his gratitude to the NRM leadership and affirmed his commitment to conducting a peaceful campaign.
Furthermore, Moris Ogwal Omara, a candidate for LCV Amolatar, stated that they will engage in politics that promotes unity and harmony.
Mr Awio Mike, a candidate from Muntu Sub county for the district council, commended the NRM leadership for this admirable initiative.
On the other hand, the DPC of Amolatar, SP John Mafabi, stated that the police are prepared to ensure that the campaigning and elections are conducted peacefully.
DISO Amolatar cautioned against identity politics, religious manipulation, and blackmail, warning of the risk of potential attacks.
However, James Olobo, Kioga North Member of Parliament, has threatened chaos at Hot FM if the station begins updating people on election matters, warning that the radio station could be destroyed.
