As the nation eagerly anticipates the NRM party primary election scheduled for 17 July 2025, the ongoing celebrations and warm reception for Mr Okodo Peter during the NRM joint campaign highlight a promising outlook for his candidacy in Kioga North.

His favourable welcome during visits to various sub-counties, particularly Abeja, Awelo, Arwotcek, Etam, Akwon, Agikdak, Opali, and Aputi, signals a potential shift that could redefine political allegiances in the region.

During his visit to Abeja on Saturday, 12 July 2025, Mr Okodo addressed residents with a clear message of gratitude and determination.

He proudly highlighted his achievements within Abeja sub-county, emphasising the construction of a much-needed dormitory for Akol P7, which is set to significantly improve educational access for local children.

Additionally, he extended his support to various churches in Akol, repaired a vital borehole to improve access to clean water, and provided scholarships for vulnerable children, further demonstrating his commitment to uplifting the community.

Mr Okodo also took the opportunity to acknowledge the warm reception he continues to receive from several sub-counties, contrasting this with the apparent neglect by Hon. James Olobo Dubai, the incumbent MP for Kioga North.

Many residents expressed their appreciation for Mr Okodo’s initiatives, signalling a growing desire for new leadership in the region.

In Awelo, on Sunday, 13 July 2025, Mr Okodo reiterated his commitment to education by highlighting his substantial support for Adwala Primary School, Atero Community School, and Atomoro Primary School.

He emphasised his efforts to empower the community through financial assistance to various village savings groups, promoting economic inclusion and stability among local families.

In stark contrast, Hon. Dubai faced rejection from the community as he attempted to address the public about his previous achievements and manifesto.

This growing disillusionment with the incumbent reflects a significant shift in the political landscape of Kioga North.

Mr Okodo’s vision for Kioga North includes a broader agenda aimed at tackling critical issues such as healthcare, education, financial inclusion, and infrastructure development.

His plans involve establishing hand-skilling centres for young mothers and fathers, improving farming techniques, and ensuring access to clean water.

The enthusiastic response from the community indicates they are seeking a representative who genuinely understands and addresses their needs.

As the primary election date approaches, the momentum behind Mr Okodo Peter appears to be growing stronger, positioning him as a formidable candidate in the eyes of the Kioga North electorate.

The combination of his past contributions and forward-looking agenda resonates well with voters who desire both change and progress in their communities.
